Somewhere.Out.There.

Such a late start today. I was so busy all morning with real work, but when I received this picture in my inbox, I couldn’t help but grin. The past two photoshoots (the Christmas elf and this) with Skip Staheli have been just amazing, he is as always overly talented and a wonderfully fun friend! A best friend really, other than Draakje, he’s the only person who knows all my deep dark secrets and dreams. He and I are once again strictly playing with the fun side, not worrying about the fashion, but to be honest, this round, I told Skip I had nothing. No ideas, no creativity. Nothing. I thought about it a while and asked if he would mind if I just did a “me” picture. I wanted just a random snapshot, I can’t recall when I last had one. So here it is, and I hope you like..

Skip named it, “Cao Northern Lights,” and like Skip, I’ve never seen the Aurora Borealis. I hope to one day, but for now the name had me thinking. And my take from? Somewhere out there, I have a vast number of friends from so many different countries and cultures. Friends I would hang with, learn from, have business with, peacefully argue with, and hopefully grow with. Somewhere out there, in all these cultures I have best friends, lovers, and even quite possibly the one man I was meant to live my life with. With a sky so large, the Earth gets just a little bit smaller and a little more within my reach. Hope, thats what it is. I like hope, don’t you?
