So you’re walking along the beach, kicking at the sand and you notice a magic lamp hidden under a rock. You pull it out and rub it, because what else would you do with a magic lamp? Out pops a genie who is ready to grant you three wishes, any three wishes to do with your SLife.
*SoliDea FoliEs* will also be a part of Season of Couture and is offering this adorably glam Dior inspired outfit!
Meme instructions: Share three things you wish for or about your Second Life. They could be things you wish from Linden Lab, things you would like to have inworld, things you would like to do, or any kind of wishes you may have. Remember to leave your link in this meme’s post so others can come by and read your answers as well!
1. I think, like Strawberry Singh, my first wish would be that Second Life® didn’t carry such a negative connotation eliciting visions of virtual pixel grubbing. I blog as a Second life model, but I write as a Second Life® model but also as a real world writer. Yet, I don’t think I could bring myself to share my blog with a real world client. Even though no man in Second Life® has been able to coax me out of my red sequined bedecked pixelated knickers thus far, I can’t help but worry the real life person would assume bouncing pixels was entrenched in my lifestyle and wonder if I would be up for a little late night phone sex. And it’s kind of sad honestly, in truth, a great deal of the population of Second Life® is much like a real world United Nations of Artistic collaborations of arts, ideas, music and words.
2.My second wish for a Second Life® is that people would learn to “play nice.” It’s very easy to be mean while hunching down behind a computer. Virtuality in some ways is a one-dimensional experience that doesn’t force a person to deal with the consequences of their behavior because the avatar doesn’t look their target in the eye or observe body language or general social cues that probably stop them from being mean in real life. I think oft if people feel insecure about themselves, whether it’s their body, their intelligence, or their personality, they try to thrust these insecurities on someone else to make THEM selves feel better. I detest cyber bullying of any kind and truly feel we need to address this, the life you save may be someone your know.
3.Number three! Boy this is harder than I thought it would be, I am way too structured in my Second Life. So I think, or rather, I hope, one day I stop to dance, to laugh with a pixel-headed “significant other”, just to get to know someone as more than just a friend. But…. I’m pretty shy and very pessimistic about virtual relationships, so not too sure this one will ever come true. Ah, well. Dreaming about happily ever afters and prince charmings are always so much more pleasing when they are defined by your own pleasures and fantasy’s. No?
Don’t forget! Tomorrow a new concept in shopping, Season’s of Couture will begin! The items I saw are incredible, if you can stop by tomorrow at 1PM SLT there is a fashion house style showing of the items on sale being done by Boulevard Model Management. And all items are limited quantities of 100, so when they are gone, they are gone.. I’ll even make it simple and call a taxi for you! I’m kinda nice like that. Taxi:
Love both the couture piece! and thank you for sharing your Meme…I will be doing mine soon. 😀
YAYYYY! I can’t wait to read yours too! 😀
In advance sorry for my english I use a translator:
The dress photos “Waiting metal mesh dress” is very beautiful ..so I decided to buy it.
And here the problems begin: first demo is a shapeless white dress so I bought a “trusting only the photo”.
second: here are only 2 sizes, and of course I did not go well (I’m lucky)
At this point I wrote to the creator who despite being Italian( I’m itlaian girl then there is not problem with time or language) she never responded me even though it was online.
I love your blog but this dress on sale its different , I think its better if you check your stylist and and their professionalism.
Hallo! I am so sorry you did not like the dress! I know mesh does not always work for all shapes and I am sad this one didn’t work for you. I have to say though, I am a blogger for the consumer not designers and I styled myself. I even usually purchase my own outfits. I would never blog something I felt was poor quality, and my pics are typically just snapshots with minimal editing (unless they are professional pics). The metal dress was this way, just a snapshot. The dress fit me and the only editing was to correct at the shoulders where poses tend to bork with mesh. So I suppose I was lucky on this. Have you played with your shape at all? I would be happy to meet with you and maybe we can figure out together what is wrong? Just let me know, again sorry if you felt I mislead you in any way.
Agree with you that some are rude in the virtual world. It is the same in comments section and forums..
omgoodness Nightlake, its crazy isn’t it? I blogged an inworld “store” (as in has 4 walls and a ceiling) and instead of saying anything about the subject, the commenter went on how I should be more knowledgeable that it is an “event” not a “store.” In one of my not brighter moments in life I pretty much said to them “who cares?” Did I get the info out? But is was just amazing, bc really, who cares? I could have called it a place to pick up shoos! 🙂
That is really interesting, Cao. In some comments section, people say totally irrelevant things and drag race, country and religion into every topic. Same with You tube. So, I don’t comment anywhere else, except WordPress:)
yes very true, politeness is often thrown out the window. I find your blog amazing! I am so glad to have found you. 🙂
So do I, Cao. like your blog as well as the photos. Since you are a model in SL, many of them are amazing
😀 Thank you so much! You made my day!
:))
I have to agree with you totally on both one and two. And I do hope you find someone special. Despite my cynicism, I do believe you can find love in a virtual sense. I have a wonderful boyfriend I met in SL. We were friends first and we’ve been together for five months now (eons in SL time!) And although he rarely gets into SL these days, the connection is real and we stay in touch through other means. I don’t expect it to ever become a reality, but that doesn’t diminish the feelings we have for one another.
Thanks for another lovely post ♥
that is very true, I am glad you made a heart friend 🙂
