Keeping it All the Year

Keeping it all the YearIf you don’t read the blog, at least (please) watch the below video. I bet you can’t figure out who the grinch is 😉

What an emotionally roller coasting year I have had, in the real world and in my second world. As I leave this year behind, I am filled with so many thoughts, some happiness, lots of sadness but of you all? Much happiness really. I adore and appreciate each and every one of you, you are amazing, supportive, kind, and oh so wonderful! You guys are the joy that abounds, when the presents are done, the food is eaten, the fire is warm and a sleepy fulfilling peacefulness miraculously invades the hardest of hearts. On here, I write just “stuff,” I was going to say crap, but I should be nice, even to myself, in the spirit of the holiday. You all bring me such a huge smile daily because you support me, some hopefully even “get” me. I am thankful even for the anonymous readers who peek in every once in a while and then wander off to their own devices. There are no words to express the honor I feel that for some reason, that day, you peeked! Life is good. I hope yours is as well. But always, let’s remember to include those less fortunate than ourselves. Even if all we can afford to spare is an extra big smile and a kind word.

Keeping it all the Year

For you all, this is my “grown up Christmas Wish.” This Christmas let your heart shine a little brighter, be a little more open to possibility. Christmas is not a time nor a season but a state of mind. Cherish peace and goodwill, look to others with a little more forgiveness, and feel the joy of the season with the heart of a child. Be glad, be hopeful and feel the good of the world spiritually. Because there is nothing quite so poignantly sad than to wake up Christmas day and not be a child, soften your view and embrace the season as a child. I hope you wake up in wonder and joy for all that surrounds you. That is the little wish I have for each and every one of you.

Take from? I may not come back until the New Year, definately will blog very little until then. After a brief hiatus from “date night” with all that has transpired in my life this past weeks, I’ve got one tonight. Well actually an entire date weekend. Dr. Ben Dover (naw, I think I will start calling him just Taylor, he earned it) is dragging me off to Savannah and promises there will be no need for spanx anywhere on this weekend. Wheeeee! The past couple months, I’ve been so up and down, it’s a wonder he didn’t borrow a cue from me and shiv me with one of my beloved plastic sporks, but hung around, he did. Well, looky there.. I believe my heart might have just opened up the tiniest bit more to possibility. Joy, love and peace to all of you during this holiday season. ❤

It’s raining on and off today so that must mean Spring is right around the corner. I love Spring, I think it like taking out a drab rug and shaking out the bits of debris and dust that have accumulated over the winter. It’s Spring, so soon we will have a lot of new pretties to wear. I am hoping for a mesh bikini in Pantone’s color of the season, emerald green. *Hint* My friend Kallisto Destiny of Drift has started to put out her fresh new looks for Spring and boy do they put me in a beach state of mind. All of these outfits come with a Color HUD so you have at the very least 5 colors in each outfit. So what are you waiting for? Go get them! I’m so nice I even included the taxi for you! Taxi: All other LM’s should be on my “Last known SLURL’s” page, if not just give me a call.

As for me, I am going to wander away for the day, rainy days just somehow mean time to shop for me, and I’ve some Spring buying to do.

Overall I had a rather wonderful weekend. I need a little detoxing today because it seems I didn’t sleep all that well. Saturdays dinner boat ride was amazing! The moon was near full so the view was stunning, but thats not what I want to talk about today. As you know I am a thinker. And a watcher. Sunday’s NASCAR party, I will be the first to admit, I don’t “get” NASCAR, but this is an annual party with over fifty of my closest friends so all in all, I had a blast. One of the games we play every year is we all draw names from a bucket of the 43 driver’s in the race. The first bucket we draw from is our potential winners, the second our potential losers. We, of course, pay for these draws. As the race went on, I wandered about, socialized, played some of the other games available and pretty much forgot the race all together. Which is OK, there was much entertainment there. As the race ended, I brought out my names and a friend started chanting and swaggering, “I’m the winner, I’m the winner!” In amazement at my luck, I started dancing and singing “Oh yeah, I’m a loser. I’m a loser!” Prize to first place, and same prize to last place, remember?

The take from, yes it’s here. There will always be models that appear to be “better” than other models, but it is not so. Because one day when you least expect it, that weakest link may prove to be the strongest, they just may save the show. So never look down upon another person, embrace them their differences. We as models are at our best only when we work together. As the Polish poet Stanislaw Lec once astutely penned,”The weakest link in a chain is the strongest because it can break it.” Just a little something to think about on a high gravity Monday. Kind of quiet today. I have a busy weekend this weekend. Lots of real life to attend to. Not bad stuff, two parties actually, one on a dinner boat, one for the Nascar races. I live alone, so I like going to parties every once in a while. It lets me mingle and meet people. Do I feel I have to have a man in my life?. No, not really. Not now anyway. I often wonder if I waited to long to ever have a someone. But I think thats okay, I’m kinda in love with the person I live with (me). Many people ask me if I am lonely. I do get that way sometimes, but to be honest, I am so quiet I hardly even notice I am there. (thats a joke) Being single is beneficial in a lot of ways, I am not defined by a relationship, I am me. I can go to a Nascar race and not know a single driver. I also don’t have to put up with someone’s annoying habits, we all have them. I take that back, I do have to put up with it, KT snores like a lumberjack, a lot of noise for something that weighs 19 pounds. I oft get scared the neighbors in the condo next to mine will assume its me snoring.

drift3

Another great thing about being single? I can date. No, I don’t go to those dating sites, Lawdy knows the way the Internet scares me, I’d be comatose by the time someone tried to hook up with me. But more importantly, I half suspect those sites are used more by married people than singles. Whats up with that anyway? Sheesh! If the grass is so much greener on my side, get a divorce first. Well, hmm, maybe that was a little closed minded. I better stop here. As you can tell, I am mellowing into the weekend, in a feisty kind of way. I might even go out tonight. So you guys hold down the fort, the Cao is going to wander away. I’m going to breathe.

drift2

And when I do, you can bet I am going to wear something like these two outfits from Kallisto Destiny of Drift. I just love the dress, it’s roomy and gorgeous with a sneaky little peek of a lot of lower back. I like that, makes him ache to touch me. The dress has a HUD that allows you to change the colors, so one dress equals a lot of different uses. YAY! I’m going to wear the “Morning Tank” to the Nascar party. The weather this weekend will be in the 80’s and its an outdoor party, so I’ll want to keep it cool, no? Take from? Yep. It’s amazing to have someone to share your life with, it truly is. It’s like when you take a breath they are entrenched deeply in to your soul. Some say, the person “completes” you. But while this type of relationship is all encompassing, the person doesn’t “complete you.” You are whole when you are born, your life experience creates the complete you. This lover is an added quality to life, they “enhance” you. I hope you all have an equally enhanced weekend! Drift: Taxi: (all the other SLURLS, “last known page…)

For.Those.We.Have.Lost.

For.Those.We.Have.Lost.

It is so close to the time. So close and I am so excited because this event weighs so heavy on my heart due to my best friend/sister in law dying of leukemia. I look forward to it every year, this is my third in Second Life and I hope you will lend a hand and help too. The wonderful part of SL’s Fashion for Life event is you don’t just donate, you receive a product for your donation, something you would possibly wish to buy anyway. All the designers items at donated to the charity at 100%. One person can make a difference. As stated on the RFL website, “Nowhere is that more evident than with the story of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, which began in Tacoma, Washington. In the mid-1980s, Dr. Gordy Klatt, a Tacoma colorectal surgeon, wanted to enhance the income of his local American Cancer Society office and to show support for all of his patients who had battled cancer. He decided to personally raise money for the fight by doing something he enjoyed – running marathons.” Dr. Klatt walked the track for 24 hours straight for his patients and with his friends raised $27,000 toward the cure. Don’t think cancer is some vague disease that will never effect you. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States alone. I personally lost my best friend/sister in law to leukemia at the age of 36 and watching the disease progress is devastating. There are many types of cancer, but all cancers start with a single abnormal cell. Abnormal cells multiply quickly. They spread to other parts of the body, invading healthy body tissue and organs, yet almost half of all cancer deaths can be prevented with early detection and treatment.

For.Those.We.Have.Lost.

Relay For Life is the signature fundraising event of the American Cancer Society. The Relay For Life of Second Life is the largest, most successful fundraising event in our virtual world, raising more than $5.4 million in 2012. From noon March 9th 2013 to noon March 17th 2013, the biggest, boldest and most fabulous fashion event of the year will take place, helping to raise funds and awareness on behalf of the ‘American Cancer Society.’

I hate it when I grow up and make a rational grown-up decision. I really do. I’ve done something pretty rare in Second Life. I’ve lived in the same place for 3 years now. Three real life years. And it’s time to let it go. To prepare, I sent a letter to the people I lease the land from about three weeks ago, because I knew mentally this will be difficult to do. You would think it wouldn’t be, it’s not like I have had more than eight people come visit me in all that time, I truly am a recluse. But its been a labor of love the entire way. I think where it started to change was this year it took all my energy to change to a snowy landscape. Then this past few months, I hardly even travel down there, choosing to stay on my platform in the sky shooting pictures. It’s not like I spend much time in Second Life these days. An hour a day on weekdays maybe four hours a day on the weekend, so it hardly seems to be a viable expense anymore. It doesn’t take a business degree to figure out its money wasted. My only fear is it may signal as my waning days in Second Life, but I won’t think about or accept that at this point, I’m shoving it to the back of the inventory for now. Why? Because, I have so many very real friends in SL, including the designer of the Drift brand clothes I am wearing for this blog. Kallisto Destiny, a friend, designer, blogger, and excellent photographer, is one of the things I simply love about Second Life, the creativity abounds here in so many places and details.

As you can see, my house is a bit of a mutt. I’ve melded two seperate Leezu! homes into one. I used to just have the white house, but along the way, I wanted to add a bedroom, well, mainly so I could decorate with more “stuff.” In the foreground is my bath house, its a beach shop created by Teefy. I just love the areas and gardens of this property, every bit of it has been a labor of love. But, well perhaps a Second Life mimics a first and I find now that I am “old,” virtually 5! It has become time to downsize. I’ll be okay, I think. 🙂

Take from? yep, it’s here. I never thought I was the type of person who would let possessions possess me. I am, by all accounts a minimalist in real life. But sometimes, you pour so much of your heart into a project that at some point you don’t know where it starts and where you end. I think the take from for me is, it’s okay. It’s never easy to let go, the trick is in learning to move forward without any doubts. To grow and try something new. So forward on, I go. If you get a chance, check out Drift this weekend. I know you will absolutely adore what you find there, soothing comfort clothes. What can I say, they go good with my macaroni and cheese… Here ya are, I even included the taxi for once: Taxi:
