For.Those.We.Have.Lost.

It is so close to the time. So close and I am so excited because this event weighs so heavy on my heart due to my best friend/sister in law dying of leukemia. I look forward to it every year, this is my third in Second Life and I hope you will lend a hand and help too. The wonderful part of SL’s Fashion for Life event is you don’t just donate, you receive a product for your donation, something you would possibly wish to buy anyway. All the designers items at donated to the charity at 100%. One person can make a difference. As stated on the RFL website, “Nowhere is that more evident than with the story of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, which began in Tacoma, Washington. In the mid-1980s, Dr. Gordy Klatt, a Tacoma colorectal surgeon, wanted to enhance the income of his local American Cancer Society office and to show support for all of his patients who had battled cancer. He decided to personally raise money for the fight by doing something he enjoyed – running marathons.” Dr. Klatt walked the track for 24 hours straight for his patients and with his friends raised $27,000 toward the cure. Don’t think cancer is some vague disease that will never effect you. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States alone. I personally lost my best friend/sister in law to leukemia at the age of 36 and watching the disease progress is devastating. There are many types of cancer, but all cancers start with a single abnormal cell. Abnormal cells multiply quickly. They spread to other parts of the body, invading healthy body tissue and organs, yet almost half of all cancer deaths can be prevented with early detection and treatment.

Relay For Life is the signature fundraising event of the American Cancer Society. The Relay For Life of Second Life is the largest, most successful fundraising event in our virtual world, raising more than $5.4 million in 2012. From noon March 9th 2013 to noon March 17th 2013, the biggest, boldest and most fabulous fashion event of the year will take place, helping to raise funds and awareness on behalf of the ‘American Cancer Society.’

Snow.Days.

Snow.Days.[sYs] just released a line of winter outfits, all stylish and perfect for boosting your chic wardrobe!

Let face it, Florida gets cheated. We don’t have seasons. We don’t have snow. We don’t have mini-vacations in the midst of the school year drudgery due to “snow days.” Bummer. When I was young I used to dream about how fun it would be to ditch school and play in the snow. Those children up there have it made. But I suppose these days, now older and without the need to purchase a coat or to feel the effects of the lack of sunshine, I’ve come to terms with what is lacking in my life. Flipside, I can walk along the beach in the winter wearing a pair of shorts and windbreaker. That should mean something right? Yes, it should mean something and it does. But drat it all, just once I’d love to flop back in the snow and make a snow angel.

Snow.Days. The new releases also include elegant jackets and pants combo’s in a variety of styles and materials, so don’t miss out!

I love Second Life modeling. I love the playfulness of the outfits, I love how a look can be so completely different from one model to another, depending on their style preferences. I love how really cool sets can be created for pictures and it doesn’t require a mop and bucket to clean up the mess afterward… Life is so good! Oh and don’t try this scene at home. Messy. Taxi:

Never.Say.Never.

Never.Say.Never.

I know, I know. I’ve heard myself say it at least a hundred times, “I am retired.” But sometimes, things change, and most times for a really good reason. A reason like, one of your favorite agency’s, BLVD Model Management, and one of your favorite Entertainment Empires, BOSL (Best of Second Life), and two of your favorite designer’s, Gizza and *SoliDea FoliEs* , ask for you to attend. Well, how could I pass all that by, and really, why would I want to? I had a blast! I have to admit, I was a little scared, I’d never been in a show that was threatened with a cyber terrorist attack, heck, I couldn’t even figure out how to mute the big bully. But in the end, good over-powered evil, the show went on, and boy, the entire week was simply amazing! My congratulations to BOSL, BLVD, Metaverse TV, and all of the designer’s who participated! Also, thank you to all who came to watch or watched on TV. There is nothing quite as exciting as walking a runway to the sound of applause and wedding proposals. (*cough* Zachary!) You are all so kind and uplifting, such wonderful friends, thank you always for your support of a silly lil Cao.

We do not refill stock so don’t miss out on some of the incredible finds at the Couturier’s Dock. We purposely kept our designer’s list limited to some of the designers we feel have niched their own genre of fashion so the items available to you will be unique, limited to lots of 35 units, will be affordable at a price range of 50 to 500 Lindens (50% off the main store price) and we hope what you find will be a treasured addition to your Second Life inventory.
